I worked in mental health services for many years before deciding to practice Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy.
I could see how effective it was after trying it myself and recognised how it could work well with a number of other techniques to help improve wellbeing.

I believe therapy should be all about finding your inner resources - your inner jewels. It should be supporting people to find ways to move forward in ways which are right for them. Never about what the therapist wants, it's what you want that counts.

Hypnotherapy is a bit like meditation with goals.
No mind control or any of the stuff you see on TV!
It's about creating a relaxed state of mind, opening the creative parts of the brain and helping you achieve your goals. It is useful for so many issues, such as:
Reducing anxiety
Improving depression
Overcoming phobias
Improving confidence
Reaching many different goals
As a coaching and mentoring tool
Self-development
Overcoming personal challenges
Motivation.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy - This is the primary type of therapy I combine with Hypnotherapy. It is about looking at strengths, skills, personal goals and insights. It is an empowering tool for self-development and finding your inner resources.

I also use techniques from:

Positive Psychology - this is a school of thought within Psycholgy that is to do with boosting resilience and wellbeing.

Mindfulness - Experiencing the powerfulness of mindfulness was life-changing for me. I learnt how the power of being still and tuning in to the chatter of the mind, could be extraordinarily powerful in life's journey and in managing the most difficult of days.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - This is about understanding how our thoughts affect our feelings and behaviour and using them more effectively.
(Please note I am NOT a CBT therapist in it's own right but am trained and qualified to use CBT techniques from my post-graduate studies).
